Feeding & Storage

Alfie getting a treat

We often treat our pets as an expression of our love for them, but this can also be a critical component in training dogs and in reinforcing and rewarding good behaviour.

Ideally, you should offer your dog a treat in between meals, because if you are using treats as a training aid, it won’t be as effective right after your dog has had a full meal.

It is perfectly acceptable to feed your dog several treats a day from The Little Pet Biscuit Company range. All our biscuits and treats are designed with the health conscious pet owner in mind and do not contain ingredients which would contribute to significant weight gain. However, these should not be substituted for a balanced diet and ideally, treats should make up no more than 10% of your pet’s daily calorie intake.

Please make sure your pet always has plenty of fresh water available.

Storage

Our biscuits and treats contain no additives or preservatives to artificially prolong their shelf life, but as they are slowly oven baked to remove moisture and only contain dry ingredients, they have a shelf life of up to a year.  However, we do recommend you store our biscuits in an airtight container in a cool place away from direct sunlight.

Cheesy popcorn should be stored in an airtight container and eaten within 3 weeks of purchase.

Allergy advice

Dogs with a gluten intolerance or allergy to wheat should only be given biscuits and treats from our gluten free range.

Please be aware that some of our recipes contain nuts and all our biscuits have been prepared in a kitchen where nuts and other food allergens are prepared.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.
